HERBERT L. ROBERTS, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
Herb has 39 years of professional experience with the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and HUD's predecessor agency, U.S. Housing & Home Finance Agency. He helped establish the HUD office in Los Angeles in 1970 and has valuable insight and understanding of HUD operations, policies, and objectives. From 1975 to 1997, Herbert served as the Director of Community Planning and Development (CPD) at the HUD Los Angeles Area Office. He was in charge of HUD CPD Operations, managed 95 local government grantees, hundreds of nonprofit organizations, and a portfolio in excess of $1 billion in housing, community and economic development, and special needs assistance programs. Herb directed a staff of more than 50 supervisory, professional, and support personnel.
